ANNOUNCING TWO COURSES
SSKBK is happy to announce the commencement of its three month residential course on the theme “Land, Cows and Krishna - II”.
SSKBK is also introducing a one month Pottery Training course entitled “Pottery Meddling and Molding” in association with Khadi Village Industries and Commission, Ministry of MSME, Govt of India at our campus.
Both courses are scheduled between January 2010 and March 2010. The primary medium of instruction will be English and optionally Hindi, Kannada or Telugu.
THEMES
The theme of the three month residential course is:
“LAND, COWS AND KRISHNA - PART II”
The course curriculum has been designed to introduce the students to various occupational duties (varnas) of brahmanas, ksatriyas, vaisyas and sudras.
A few mandatory courses, such as Krsi (agriculture) and Go-Raksa (cow protection) will be taught to all the students. Additional optional courses can be taken up depending on individual interests.
The theme for the one month Pottery Training will be:
“POTTERY MEDDLING AND MOLDING”
Basic Theory Sessions and Orientation Week will be held for both of the above courses.
COURSE FEE
***There will be no tuition fee collected from the students.
***Sponsorship for accommodation are limited.

ELIGIBILITY
1.The candidate must be educated in basic English or Hindi.
2.The candidate should send a written recommendation letter by his local authority such as Temple President, etc.
3.The candidate must fully fill up the Application Form.
4.The candidate must be eager and interested to learn.
5.The basic home study material sent by the institute should be studied before commencement of the course.
NO. OF SEATS
A total of 5 students will be selected for the course – “Land , Cows and Krishna – II” and
A total of 2 students will be selected for the course – Pottery Training.
SELECTION PROCESS
The eligible candidates are shortlisted and telephonically/ or personally interviewed. Once selected, the candidates will be informed via email and at the selected candidate’s name will be displayed in the website: www.varnasrama.org and www.varnasramaeducation.org .

COURSES
The courses will cover aspects of Srimad Bhagavatam, Bhagavad-gita, Natural Farming, Goshala Care, Watershed Management, Village Arts and Crafts , Basic Construction Techniques, Village Governance, Traditional Technologies, Leadership Principles along with many field trips for exchange between farmers and specialists.

Trained and expert faculties are drawn from various fields.

ASSOCIATIONS
Our Varnasrama College is associated with various like-minded and specialized training centers such as:
Ramachandrapura Math for Cow protection,
Khadi Village Industries Commission, Govt of India for Village arts and crafts,
Andhra based NGO Shakti for Village Governance and so on.
These will be also listed in the Prospectus.
ABOUT THE CAMPUS
Sahyadri Sri Krishna Balarama Ksetra (SSKBK) is a located on 15 acres of lush green forest area at the foothills of the Sahyadri Mountains near Agumbe of Western Ghats. Western Ghats is identified as one of the seven top ten bio-diversity hotspots of the world and hence one can find varieties of flora and fauna in abundance throughout the area.
The campus was started in 2005 and is focused on providing varnasrama education and training based on principles of natural farming & self-sufficiency. FACILITIES AT THE CAMPUS
Students will be provided with accommodation and sanctified food (lacto vegetarian diet). The institute will not provide medical care except for First Aid at the campus. However, various doctors are associated with the institute and their services can be availed at the town located 3 Km away from the campus.
